Greetings, 39ers! If you’re reading this you likely received an e-mail announcing our new name: AVON 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer. As a 39er, your power, strength, and determination will help us crush breast cancer once and for all.
Please read below for more details about the change and how it affects you.
Do you know anyone who has kept the same hairstyle and wardrobe for more than a decade? If so, chances are you’d like to nominate them for an extreme makeover! Simply put, the time has come for this change. The Avon Walk family has grown in strength and determination over the years. We are serious about putting an end to breast cancer, and we have the power and commitment to do something about it. AVON 39ers are a force to be reckoned with, and the way we talk about our Walk needs to show the world just how fierce and fabulous we truly are.
You can be assured that the event itself has not changed. Since you have already registered for AVON 39, the biggest difference you will notice is in how you promote your participation and ask for donations. You will use the new name, AVON 39, and share some of the materials we’re developing to help communicate the change. Actually, we expect that the new look and feel will greatly help your recruitment and fundraising efforts by showing your supporters just how truly committed you are!
Absolutely! Again, the event format has not changed. Every step truly does make a difference. A 39er is anyone who participates in the Walk. We band together in solidarity with one goal: to take down breast cancer. The actual distance you walk is totally up to you. If you ever feel you’d like to stop, rest assured a support van will be there to pick you up.
That’s the fun part! Over the next few months, we’ll launch new TV commercials and print ads like the ones you see here that emphasize the power and determination of our AVON 39 Walkers. Here’s a sneak preview of our new look:
