We are heading to BEANTOWN!
On June 24-25 I will be walking for two-days and 39.3 miles with team Treasured Chests in my 12th AVON Walk to End Breast Cancer.
Many of you know this is a cause close to my heart. My mother and sister-in-law and countless friends have faced - and beat -this horrible disease. And sadly, we lost two beautiful young women Heather Borra and Stacy Goldstein, who passed away from breast cancer in their 30s, after being diagnosed in their 20's. This is unimaginable.
Through research and education we have come a long way with better treatment options, incresed survival rates, enhanced quality of life for patients and families, as well as enhanced screening techniques. We have made care more readily available to underserved populations. All of this was possible because of the funds raised through the generosity of donors who are partners in this fight.
And that's why I walk. From now until AVON 39 weekend, I’ll train to strengthen my body to walk over 39 miles in two days. I’ll also be raising as much money as I can to crush breast cancer.
Your donations will be managed and disbursed by the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade. The dollars you pledge will put food on the table of a breast cancer patient and her family. They will enable access to mammograms and medicine, fuel research, and save lives.
I’m walking with thousands of other 39ers. We’re banding together in solidarity and have one goal: to take breast cancer down. If you are able I would love for you to join me in this fight with any amount, large or small. And if you happen to be in the Boston area come out and cheer us on.
With deep gratitude,
Dana
