Thanks for visiting my Avon Walk page. I have committed to participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer for the ninth year in a row. I will be walking in memory of a wonderful and caring person, Anita Teer. In September of 2008 she lost her battle with breast cancer. My daughters, Tabitha and Miranda were blessed to have her as their Nana. Her husband Bob, daughter Deirdre, and son Rob along with her many family and friends were lucky to have her in their lives. I personally will never forget the memories I have of her.
I will also be walking to honor a survivor, my Mother. A few years ago she faced her diagnosis head on and after several months of radiation treatments and the ill effects that go with it, and continued medication, she won. As of today she is still cancer-free.
I also have the privilege of being a co-captain for a third year of the Boston Solo Strutters team. The Solo Strutters USA team is a national walking team that participates in all Avon39 walks around the country.
The money I raise will be managed and disbursed by the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade to help provide access to care for those that most need it, fund educational programs, and accelerate research into new treatments and potential cures, such as those for stage four breast cancer. I will be just one of thousands of people that will walk 39 miles over the June 24th-25th weekend, raising awareness of the cause and educating even more people.
I cannot do it without your help. Though my goal is to raise at least $2,500.00 in donations, I want to raise much more!!
I hope that I can count on your support.
You can make a donation to my fundraising campaign right here on the website by clicking on DONATE NOW If you prefer to write a check, just contact me at [email protected] and I'll send you the information and form.
While you're here, you might want to spend some time on the site to find out more information on why this event is so important, and the organizations and people that will be helped by the money we all raise.
Thank you in advance.
