Here we go again!!! Avon Walk #5. My team, Boopster and Friends, are ready to walk again. This time we are taking on Boston in June of 2017. Last year our team raised over $20,000 and we hope to raise even more for this next race. This is a huge big commitment, one that requires several months of training and fundraising. Breast cancer is a big disease, one that still affects far too many people, and we're determined to do everything we can to help put an end to it. The money we raise will be managed and disbursed by the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade to help provide access to care for those that most need it, fund educational programs, and accelerate research into new treatments and potential cures. We'll be just a few of thousands of people that will walk up to 39.3 miles over 2 days, raising awareness of the cause and educating even more people. Please support me as I take another amazing journey in the fight to end breast cancer!
Why am I walking?
My biggest reason for walking is Jim's (my husband) mother. She battled breast cancer but sadly did not survive and died at a very young age. Unfortunately I never got to meet her but from what I've heard she truly was an amazing woman, mother, wife and friend. No one should have to lose someone so important to him or her from such an ugly disease. I want to do what I can to help stop this. So I am walking for my family. I am walking for my friends. I'm walking for anyone who HAS battled breast cancer, who ARE battling breast cancer, and who WILL battle breast cancer. I'm walking for those who are high risk for breast cancer. I'm walking for ALL the people who have been touched by breast cancer in one-way or another. I'm walking for the people who want to walk, but can't. I'm walking for YOU...& for ME. I'm walking because I CAN...& I WILL!
And THANK YOU!! If you're reading this it means that you have taken the first step in the fight! Without YOU, I would not be able to do this. Without YOUR generosity and YOUR heart, I would not be able to do this! It's all because of YOU that I am able to take on this challenge! So again THANK YOU!!! Though we're required to raise at least $1,800 in donations per team member, I hope to raise much more!
