Dearest Family & Friends,
Welcome to my 9th year participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer! Walk weekend is June 3rd & 4th, 2017, and though the snow put a damper on it, I am ready to start my training.
Last year you helped me raise just over $11,000, for an 8 year total of $101,000! Amazing.. and I could not have done it without you. To all of you who supported me you have my deepest thanks, and I welcome you back as an important part of my Team. For new donors, your help would mean the world to me.
I continue do this walk because every three minutes someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with breast cancer. Though groundbreaking treatments are lighting a path forward, there is still no cure.
I walk to honor four very amazing women: Maria, Bev, Leslie, and Linda. These people are my heroes!
This event is very powerful. Many of my walking partners are survivors, and they keep me going for all 39 miles! Once again I will be walking with my partners in crime, Fe and Linda. Yes, over 2 days, we walk 39 miles, because this is AVON 39, THE WALK TO END BREAST CANCER!
How are the funds used? Organizations large and small throughout the Chicago area receive grants from the Avon Foundation. This allows women and men to receive screening, support and treatment they require regardless of their ability to pay. It also funds cutting-edge research. All this due to the support I receive from you.
I NEED YOUR HELP AGAIN TO RAISE $15,000!
Together we can do this! We have proven that we can. This year I am asking a big favor.
