Each year it is estimated that over 220,000 women in the US will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die. Many of you know that this became an reality to us when our daughter Lynn, lost her battle in 2015, with breast cancer. The hurt and sadness is beyond words. There isn't a day that goes by that she is not in our thoughts. I truly want Lynn's legacy to continue to live on and to help find a cure that will once and for all stop breast cancer
This September 9-10, 2017, I have decided to do the Avon 39, The Walk to End Breast Cancer walk, in Santa Barbara, CA, with my sister. It will be two day's and 39 .3 miles of sore muscles and blisters, but I'm ready to take on this challenge! This doesn't compare to one day of what a breast cancer patient/ survivor goes through in their fight against this devastating and life changing disease. I'll also be raising funds to crush breast cancer. This is where you come in.
I AM REQUIRED TO RAISE AT LEAST $1,800 TO EARN MY 39, BUT I PLAN TO RAISE MUCH, MUCH MORE! I HOPE THAT I CAN COUNT ON YOUR SUPPORT! I have started early this year selling local coupon books and many of you have bought them. Words can't express my appreciation to each and everyone of you for this.
You can make a donation right here on my web page by clicking the "Donate Now" button to the right. If you prefer to write a check, click the "Donate By Mail" button and follow the instructions on the form.
Your donations will be managed and disbursed by the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade. The dollars you pledge will put food on the table of a breast cancer patient and her family. They will enable access to mammograms and medicine, fuel research, and save lives. NEED ANY MORE REASON TO CLICK THAT DONATE NOW BUTTON?
I'm walking with thousands of other 39ers. We're banding together in solidarity and have one goal: to take breast cancer down. So many sisters and mothers and friends have been lost. We see a world without breast cancer for our daughters and nieces. AVON 39 is a force of change that can't be stopped. By supporting me with a donation, you're part of it. Thank you for your words of encouragement and i carry these loving words with me when I am doing my long training walks and make each step a little easier and the miles seem a little shorter. Remember every little bit helps!
Truly Yours, Rebecca Abbott
