2017 SOLO STRUTTERS NYC
Welcome, and thank you for visiting the AVON 39 Solo Strutters team page!
We are all ready to CRUSH the 39! Solo Strutters welcomes any and all to our team! You may be a Solo walker, you may not, you may be a survivor, or you may not, but we know you are committed as deeply as we are to CRUSH breast cancer, not just the 39 miles.
We are tough. We are strong. We are INVINCIBLE!
It doesn’t matter if you walk 39 steps or 39 miles, we know your determination to end this terrible disease is strong! Come and be part of our walk family. We will help you go as far as you want to go, and we will put you in a sweep vehicle if you need it. Applause included.
Please support your local Solo Strutters team. You can make a donation to any team member by clicking on their name, and you’ll be taken to their personal page. If you'd prefer to write a check, just contact one of us and we'll send you the form and information.
Join us today and let’s earn our 39, together!
Meet Your Co-Captains
Judy Cherry – National Team Captain
This is my 12th year of walking. I am a breast cancer survivor, and the founder of the Solo Strutters program. I am looking forward to meeting all of YOU! We hope that this weekend will be memorable in every way! Whether we walk or crew, we are raising awareness, supporting and encouraging others, raising money and working together to make a difference. We are all in it for the same reason; we want to bring an END to this horrible disease!
Larisa Perino – NYC Captain – Hawthorne, NJ
I originally got involved just because I heard ads for the walk on the radio, and thought it would be a worthy cause. After I started fundraising, I found out that my grandmother had been taken by breast cancer at 59 years old. In the years since, I’ve discovered more and more connections to breast cancer throughout my family and friends. I’ve raised more than $28,000 to help fight against breast cancer, walked over 250 miles, and met countless amazing people. I started out as a Solo Strutter, just like all of you, and I’m so happy this team has been here to support me through the years! Feel free to email me at [email protected].
Janet Pescatore - NYC Co-Captain - Lawrence, NY
I started walking in 2009 when I had three friends in different stages of treatment. Three years ago my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer - so it became personal for me. I look forward to meeting you in October and helping you meet your goals! Feel free to email me at [email protected].
