On July 8th and 9th, for the eighth time, I will be walking 39.3 miles in support of those who are battling Breast Cancer. The eighth time I am walking to end breast cancer. The eighth time I am asking for your support. For my eighth walk I will be walking out on the west coast in the very hilly city of San Francisco.
Every three minutes, another woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer. I first learned this eight years ago when I was preparing for my first walk. I did not believe the statistics. Since then I have become a believer. I know too many people who have fought this disease in their 20's, 30's, 40's, & beyond. My mom, my aunt, my best friend, and many friends have fought this disease and won. Too many others have not. I need your support to end breast cancer.
I have pledged to raise over $1,800 for the Avon Walk 39. I plan to raise over $8,000 this year. Your contribution will help to support medical research into the possible causes of breast cancer, research into a cure, education & early detection programs, and clinical care and support services for women with breast cancer in communities across the country. There is a special focus on helping medically underserved women, the poor, minorities, the elderly, or those with inadequate health insurance. Much of the money granted by the Foundation goes back to the communities where it was raised, supporting everything from local grassroots programs to national organizations. It is faster and easier than ever to support this great cause – donating online or a check by mail. You can also call or email me to arrange for your donation. Whatever you can give will help!
