HI, EVERYONE!  Thanks for visiting my 2017 Avon 39 page.  Once again this July, I'll be walking 39 miles in the ongoing quest to raise money to fight breast cancer.

My fellow walkers and crew and I are all dedicated to doing what we can to beat breast cancer for everyone.  For me, that means training and fundraising the next few months, then, come July 8-9, WALKING 39.3 miles in two days.  Look out, Golden Gate Bridge, here we come again!

Why do I walk?  Because * three million women in the US are living with breast cancer; * we still don't know what causes breast cancer or how it can be prevented or cured, though we ARE making progress on these fronts; * I have three beautiful granddaughters, AND a dynamite little grandson - men get breast cancer too; * I know too many people who have struggled with and been affected by this disease.

Your support funds research to find a cure or prevention, and programs that enable all patients to access quality care, especially the medically underserved.

DID YOU KNOW? that $1800 can provide mammograms for 18 women?  That's how much I'm pledged to raise this year - I hope with your help that we can do even more for people dealing with breast cancer.
