Dear Friends and Family,
As many of you may know, I received a lump of coal for Christmas - breast cancer. Since then I have been working on ways to turn that coal into precious gems, to share with and benefit others.
I am soon to complete the Chemotherapy chapter of my journey, so I think it is time to celebrate! (This is something that my mom wasn't able to complete, so I celebrate for her too.) I would like to invite you to celebrate with me by supporting me in the AVON 39 Walk.
On July 23-24 I am participating in AVON 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer here in San Francisco. It won’t be easy, but that’s why it's worth it. Now that Chemo is soon to finish, I am confident in my ability to participate; I have committed myself to strengnth and endurance training to walk over 39 miles in two days. I have also committed myself to raise funds to crush breast cancer. This is where you come in.
I am required to raise at least $1,800 to EARN MY 39, but I plan to raise much, much more! I hope that I can count on your support!
You can make a donation right here on my webpage by clicking the "Donate Now" button to the right. If you prefer to write a check, click the “Donate By Mail” button and follow the instructions on the form.
Your donations will be managed and disbursed by the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade. The dollars you pledge will put food on the table of a breast cancer patient and her family; These dollars will enable access to mammograms and medicine, fuel research, and save lives. Need any more reason to click that Donate Now button?
I’m walking with thousands of other 39ers here in San Francisco. We’re banding together in solidarity and have one goal: to kick breast cancer's butt and take it down. So many sisters and mothers and friends have been lost. (ONE out of every EIGHT women living in the United States has the chance to develop breast cancer in her lifetime.) But even with this staggering statistic, I see in my lifetime a world without breast cancer for our daughters, nieces and friends. AVON 39 is a force of change that can’t be stopped. By supporting me with a donation, you’re part of it.
How much to donate? A little goes a long way . . .
$25 pays for test tubes at a research lab
$150 provides a mammogram for an uninsured woman
Thank you in advance for helping me turn coal into a diamond to be shared with others in need.
Thank you for helping me celebrate my Chemo Independence Day!
Sincerely,
Renee
