There's something different - something special about this 2017 Avon Walk.  I am walking this year with a team aptly named "Double Down".  

We are walking this year with a special fundraising challenge from NVR Inc.  - MATCH funds for what we raise in the month of October 2016!  FREE FUNDS!  For every dollar you donate - our company will donate another dollar.  I mean...we've got to make this count!

So - Team Double Down is rising to the challenge and asking you to do the same!  We're kicking off our fundraising for the May 2017 Avon DC Walk to End Breast Cancer - TODAY - to take advantage of this amazing opportunity.

I have been raising funds and walking this walk since my own journey with this disease began with a Stage 3 Diagnosis in December of 2000.  I am so lucky and so blessed that it's almost 16 years later and I continue to live cancer free.  But in these past 16 years too many friends, family members, co-workers and neighbors have received that same awful phone call and gone through their own battles.  Hard battles.  And while most of these women made it through with the help of the latest chemo and post chemo drugs and radiation treatments, some also lost their battles - most way too young.

My mission and goal is to be a support to those who are newly diagnosed and to work to help raise funds to find a cure - once and for all - so no one else has to get that call and live through the fear uncertainty and pain of a breast cancer diagnosis.

I've always had a LOT of help raising money for our Avon Walk.  (YOU!) So I'm asking again - at this critical challenge time - if you will support me and my team in the 2017 Avon Walk to end Breast Cancer.

I’m walking with thousands of other 39ers. We’re banding together in solidarity and have one goal: to take breast cancer down. So many sisters and mothers and friends have been lost.
