Welcome, and thank you for visiting our Lombardi/CBCC AVON 39 team page!
We walk to support the Capital Breast Cancer Center (CBCC) and all those in need in our community. CBCC is a Georgetown-Lombardi initiaitive. CBCC in its 12th year providing prevention, screening, education, and breast cancer care to all. Through these walks, over the years Avon has donated several million dollars to sustain CBCC.
Our team has learned that there is strength in numbers- in sharing, and in support each other. We have shared stories, snacks, socks, and lots of laughter. We train through rain, cold, heat, all around the metro DC area, carrying our team flag. We have walked hundreds of miles so far and will keep walking until there is an end to breast cancer.

About Avon Breast Cancer Crusade
The Avon Breast Cancer Crusade qualifies under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. Launched in 1992, the Crusade is affiliated with the Avon Foundation for Women. The Crusade’s philanthropic commitment is to enable access to medical advances and support services for breast cancer patients, particularly those from vulnerable populations, and to invest in research on the prevention, diagnostics, and treatment of breast cancer. Funding is awarded to beneficiaries ranging from leading cancer centers to community-based breast health programs for awareness and education; screening and diagnosis; access to treatment; support services; and scientific research.
