Welcome, and thank you for visiting the TEAM WRCAA AVON 39 team page!
We all know that there's strength in numbers, so it’s with great strength that TEAM WRCAA will once again work and walk toward putting an end to the suffering caused by breast cancer. We each have our reasons for participating - - whether it’s a personal fight with breast cancer, the struggle or loss of a loved one, or a deep commitment to the cause.
We've each made a big commitment. We’ll spend the next few months training to prepare for a walk of up to a marathon and a half. Each team member is required to raise at least $1,800 in donations. But because we're in this together, we know that, with your help, we can do it.
This year, Team WRCAA will be walking in honor and memory of Melanie Nocera (96,98) and for Erin Croghan Sheckells (81-84 Staff 85) and Charlene Wheeless (89-92), who are currently undergoing treatment for this horrible disease. Erin has been in the fight of her life since 2015, with stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. Erin was one of six Redskinettes selected to perform with the first WRC variety show troupe that toured Taiwan for two weeks in 1982. She was one of six cheerleaders to be selected to entertain the troops in the first WRC USO tour in 1984, and was the cover girl on the first combined NFL Cheerleader calendar. Erin and her husband Mark reside in Pasadena, Md., and have 3 children, Kevin, 18, Meghan 20, and Colleen, 22. Prior to becoming a Redskinette, Erin was a Baltimore Colts cheerleader for 5 years (76-80). Charlene was just diagnosed in April and is now recovering from surgery. She and her husband reside in Leesburg, Va., and have 2 beautiful daughters, Savannah and Jene!
We will also be walking in Honor and Memory of Karen Junghans (72-82), Lisa Wildy (84), Treana Carter (86), and Cindi Mariano Peed (69,-70); Survivors Brenda Mosley (69-78), Kim Lemon (78-79), Carol Sue Brown (65), Anita Vick (83-85), Margaret Snider (85), Rosemary Foreman (Director 88-96), Kimberly Crippen (90), Michelle Baker (96), Donna Windsor (Jacksonville Jaquars), and other WRC and NFL cheer alum we may not be aware of that are survivors, currently undergoing treatment, or lost their battle to this horrible disease.
Please support Team WRCAA! You can make a donation to any team member by clicking on their name, and you’ll be taken to their personal page. If you'd prefer to write a check, just contact one of us and we'll send you the form and information.
Thanks for your support and Cheers 2a Cure!!! *\0/*
