7 years completed and 275 miles logged in my walk weekend shoes (ok, several pairs of shoes by now!).
My goal this year is $8,000. That's one thousand dollars for every year I've walked. Seems daunting, but anything we can do to help our friends who are fighting for their lives is worth it.
My survivor / fighting for list has grown. By too many people. I am glad to say my "in honor of" list remains a stagnant number. Until we find a cure, I will keep walking. You can make a donation right here on my webpage by clicking the "Donate Now" button to the right. If you prefer to write a check, click the “Donate By Mail” button and follow the instructions on the form.
The dollars you pledge will put food on the table of a breast cancer patient and her family - right here in the DC Metro area. They will enable access to mammograms and medicine, fuel research, and save lives.
I’m walking with thousands of other 39ers. We’re banding together in solidarity and have one goal: to take breast cancer down. So many sisters and mothers and friends have been lost. We see a world without breast cancer for our daughters and nieces. AVON 39 is a force of change that can’t be stopped. By supporting me with a donation, you’re part of it. Whether it's a dollar a mile (yes, $39.30 is a swell donation # and I will do every single mile) or another flat amount that you prefer, EVERY DOLLAR HELPS.
For Jean, Michelle, Robin, Shelly, Michele, Deb, Arlene, Gwen, Tina, Tammy, Joan, Carla, Gail, Christa : KEEP FIGHTING! We’ve got your back. YOU ARE SURVIVORS AND YOU ARE AMAZING.
In memory of: Ellicia, Diane, Tracey, Elisa …
My 39 is for you.
