As you prepare for your AVON 39 weekend, here's a great training buddy — right in your phone! This pedometer app monitors your steps, distance, speed, and more during your training walks. You can also use it as a fundraising tool — easily post your progress to Facebook or Twitter with a convenient "donate now" link. AVON 39ers can access the full version of this great app with a special access code. Read on for more information.

Have additional questions?
Please visit runtastic’s customer service website
We do our best to respond within 24-48 hours for all questions.
The AVON 39 and runtastic highly recommend you to log-in with your Facebook account. When you are finished, it will ask you to ‘Post’ to Facebook or Twitter. In the app, go to ‘Settings’ – ‘Social Network Accounts’ and adjust the ‘Post mode’ so it can post this automatically if you choose. More posts on your social networks will hopefully translate into more donations made by friends and family through the ‘Donate Now’ link on your Facebook and Twitter posts.
Click the 'Start' button to start the Pedometer and slide the 'Shoe' icon to pause or stop the counter.
Stop the app (see directions above) and click on 'Stop and save session', add any additional info – how you felt, weather, etc. and the session will be loaded to runtastic.com. You then have the options to share via Facebook, Twitter or by email. As posted in Question 1 we recommend to have your sessions automatically posted by Facebook.
The Pedometer app uses very little battery life and can be turned on and then shut down in the background and it will continue to count your steps. This app should be able to be used all day if you want to count a full day of steps instead of just a training walk.
This app can be placed in your hand, pocket, purse, etc. As long as it is on your body it will calculate your steps.
In ‘Settings’ -> ‘User Data’, you can input your user information to help accurately count the number of calories burned during a session. All user data is private and not shared by runtastic.
Pedometers calculate distance based on the number of steps and the distance per step. To capture the correct distance you can adjust your step length. Go to ‘Settings’ -> ‘Step Length’ and you can slide the bar to adjust your correct length. The runtastic app will automatically calculate this if you have entered your height in the User Data (see above).
A simple formula based on height is:
Females: Multiply .413 * Height in inches (i.e. .413 * 66 inches = 2.27 feet)
Males: Multiply .415 * Height in inches (i.e. .415 * 72 inches = 2.49)
