Dear Family & Friends,
The Avon Walk to End Breast Cancer is fast approaching and Yes....I'm walking all 39.3 miles again!! There are no words to describe the impact it had on me when I walked across the Finish Line last year in Santa Barbara. There was the personal victory of simply completing the walk, but there was so much more. There was the victory I felt over the shadow that breast cancer had cast on my life and that of my family. There was humility knowing that so many people had supported me, donated on my behalf and were pulling for me. There was pride in knowing that I was fierce and strong and winning my battle with cancer. There was also pain in my heart as I looked around at so many people affected by this disease. People whose struggles were greater than mine, people whose battles were being lost, or whose lives were emptier because of someone they lost. I knew as soon as I crossed the Finish Line that I would not be "one and done".
There is so much progress that has been made, but there is still so much to do. I am happy to endure some aches and pains to aid and facilitate the incredible work that is being done to find a cure. I am happy that Ashley Witzer, my niece-in-law, will once again join me on the walk, as well as my amazing kids, Nevada and Mirage. Together we will become, "Team Toni"!
I am so grateful for any donations you make on my behalf to the Avon Walk to End Breast Cancer, and I look forward to crossing that Finish Line again!
With Love and Gratitude,
Toni
